Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the upcoming title announced for the Nintendo Switch coming December 7, 2018. Every previous Smash character has been added to the roster in addition to the Inklings, Daisy, and Ridley.
Sakurai revealed at E3 2018 that every previous character in Smash Bros. history will be returning as playable fighters in Smash Bros. Ultimate - including 3rd party characters like Snake, and characters that were retired like Ice Climbers and Wolf.
Many returning Characters have also been tweaked - some more than others. Link now sports his Breath of the Wild attire, with Remote Bombs to match. Mario now has Cappy from Super Mario Odyssey, and costumes from that game are available.
Sakurai also revealed that only the original 12 characters from the first Smash Bros. will be available from the start, but to get all 64+ fighters, many will be Unlockables in rapid succession.
