Welcome to IGN's Monster Hunter: World Wiki Guide. This page contains information on the Monster - Odogaron

EditEcology

Species Locations
Fanged Wyvern Coral Highlands, Rotten Vale

Its body resembling that of a canine, Odogaron is not the largest of monsters. However what it lacks in size, it makes up fro in agility and ferocity. Extremely aggressive to other monsters and hunters alike, its body shines with a gloss as if its very muscles are exposed. It tears into its victims with two rows of claws on its front feet, leaving deep cuts that cause bleeding on its victims and any hunter brave enough to take it on.

There’s no getting around it, this one is TOUGH. He has the look of a devil hound and the speed and agility to match. Start by finding him. He will most likely be wandering in zone 10 or 13. The best way to take it on is from the side. Many of its attacks have it doing 180 degree attacks at very fast speeds, while also lashing out in front of him. This makes fighting from both the front and back a pain, especially with its speed.

Try and avoid its combos and then hit it during its rare moments of stalking you like its prey. He also bleed damage. When enraged both his mouth and claws can cause the bleeding effect that will take chunks of your health away with the visual signifier of pulsating pink on your health bar. To rid yourself of this you have two options. One option is to get away from Odogaron long enough to crouch still in one place, and eventually your health will return to normal. Your second is to quickly munch on some Astera Jerky, which has the side effect of curing bleeding.

At some point during the fight, it will drift into areas of the Rotten Vale with the environmental hazard effluvium. This will also slowly decrease your health pool as you fight, so pay attention to your health vigilantly. Power through taking health potions to replenish your health. You can sever his tail to limit the range on that one attack. It may take a few tries to finally get this one done, but keep at it.
