These Are Some of the Strangest Food Combos We’ve Ever Seen
There was a period of time in high school when every time I would eat a bowl of ice cream, my family would cringe a little bit. When I was trying to get really muscular, like a lot of scrawny teen boys, I read in a fitness magazine that a perfect combination post workout was a protein shake, accompanied with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of sea salt. The mixture was supposed to make you eat less ice cream while still getting a lot of protein post workout.
My family found this… odd.
These days, I stick to more typical ice cream flavors (if you consider coffee a typical ice cream flavor), and as one Twitter thread proves, I hardly was eating something strange in comparison to the foods other people combine.
This week beauty YouTuber, pop culture blogger, and all-around funny person Jackie Aina tweeted an extra hot take on her fave food combo that was meant to be a joke.
(I wouldn’t blame you if you took the time right now to get a glass of water.)
What people unfamiliar with Aina don’t know is that the YouTube sensation actually is lactose-intolerant and was making a joke — thank God — but still, that didn’t keep the tweet from starting a discussion… not for the faint of heart.
Although Aina’s yogurt/mustard combination was purposefully trolling her more than 428,000 followers, and lots of people caught on to the ruse, lots and lots of people chimed in with their own food combinations, and some of them are seriously, well, weird. Here’s a few of my favorite.
This guy, who is committing a crime against mac and cheese.
This woman, who takes sweet and salty to the next level.
This person, who must have nimble fingers.
This woman, who I hope to the sweet Lord above is lying.
This dude, whose combination actually doesn’t sound so bad.
This woman, who… uh… no.
And finally, this woman who needs to be reported to the food FBI.
Humans are an extremely unique species, aren’t we?
