The Joaquin Phoenix standalone Joker movie will make its theatrical debut October 4, 2019.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, now officially named Joker, is set to begin production later this year. Warner Bros. made the announcement just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2018.
We first caught wind of the Joker origin film last year, when sources told IGN it would tell the story of a different Joker than the ones appearing in other recent DC superhero films.
The film will reportedly be set in the 80s and have a budget of just $55 million, lower than other recent DC films.
