It seems Black Adam and Shazam won't be battling anytime soon.
Speaking to Syfy Wire, Dwayne Johnson confirmed he won't appear as the DC villain in Shazam! But he did reassure the Black Adam solo film is still very much in the works.
"I'm not in that one," Johnson said. "It's Shazam and Black Adam and, with the way the DC universe works, we should — in theory — meet up on the big screen. But who knows."
Shazam! was reported to be split into two movies last year, with the second focusing on Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam. Shazam! hits theaters on April 5, 2019 while Black Adam doesn't have a release date yet.
Warner Bros. recently offered the first real look at Earth's Mightiest Hero and his best friend Freddy enjoying a couple of sodas. Guardians of the Galaxy's Djimon Hounsou also recently joined the film as the Wizard.
