Pokémon Sun and Moon's 64th episode won't be broadcast in the US, leading fans to speculate it might have been banned.
Polygon reports that Ash's get-up in this particular episode of the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime might be why it's not coming stateside.
Disney XD's programming schedule makes no mention of the episode, which sees Ash dress up as a Passimian, wearing a furry suit, with his face painted black.
This has lead some fans to believe that the episode is being skipped over because of the similarities to blackface.
So it looks like TPCi is skipping the Passimian episode...and I can uh....understand why pic.twitter.com/RnwPai1FaN

It will be the first time an episode of the anime hasn't been broadcast in the U.S. since a 2002 episode, which featured Jynx's original design, drawing criticism for portraying an offensive racist stereotype.
The Pokémon was later redesigned to have purple skin, rather than black.
Neither Disney XD nor The Pokémon Company have disclosed the reason why the episode is being skipped, and it's always possible that it will air further down the line.
IGN has reached out to The Pokémon Company for comment.
