Mortal Kombat movie reboot writer Greg Russo has confirmed the film's alleged cast leak is not the full list of characters.
Earlier this week, That Hashtag Show reported on what characters were allegedly set to appear in the upcoming reboot from producer James Wan. The list included a new character named Cole Turner, alongside some fan-favorites like Kano, Sonya Blade, Raiden, and more.
However, Russo explained on Twitterthat this leaked list is actually based off an older version of the movie's script.
"And... DEEP BREATH, everyone," Russo tweeted. "1) This is NOT the full list of characters. 2) This is BASED off an older version of the script and lastly 3) Θ«ΟΘΛ & ½~ΑγΆΘ Forever ;)."
Elsewhere in Russo's twitter thread, he revealed some of the characters on the leaked list have since been cut while others have been omitted completely.
The Mortal Kombat reboot doesn't have a release date yet. But Wan explained back in 2016 he doesn't want to rush the project.
