Aldi Is Coming Out with Heart-Shaped Cheese for Valentine’s Day
Mark your calendars! No, not for Valentine’s Day — for January 30. That’s the day that Aldi stores will start carrying its special Valentine’s Day cheese assortment. What’s a Valentine’s Day cheese assortment? Oh, you know, just some cheese that’s made specially for Valentine’s Day!

The offerings will include four special, limited-time cheeses: two heart-shaped ones that are covered in red wax (Babybel-style) and two round ones, all retailing for $4 each. The round ones are a Wensleydale with Cranberries and a Creamy Cinnamon Cheese (Wensleydale is a cow’s milk cheese that has crumbly texture and has been made in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, since 1150) with Raisins and Diced Apple. But we’re here to talk about the heart-shaped cheese. HEART-SHAPED CHEESE, you guys!
There’s the Happy Farms Preferred Mature Cheddar Classic English Cheese, which looks the most like the traditional box of chocolate you see this time of year and is probably the safest in terms of gifting. Who doesn’t heart cheddar?
And then there’s the Happy Farms Preferred Wensleydale with Raspberries and White Chocolate, which is definitely the most intriguing to us. Cheese and chocolate? We’d really like to try this one. (Hint, hint, to any secret admirers we may have!)
If your loved one is not into cheese, we say it’s time to break up. Just kidding. What we meant to say: Aldi also has lots of chocolate. In fact, the discounted grocery chain is known for its award-winning chocolate from Moser Roth. Check back with us soon, too, because we’re going to be doing a taste test of all the best chocolate options.
What do you think? Would you rather receive heart-shaped cheese than a heart-shaped box of chocolate?
